Futile Flyover at Super Bowl XLII

Seems to me the flyover of F-18s from the U.S. Navy's flight demonstration team the Blue Angels was kind of a non-event for the 70,000+ fans attending Super Bowl XLII. That's because the retractable roof on the University of Phoenix stadium was closed before and throughout the game yesterday. While the low level flyover of military jets is a pretty dramatic way to end the singing of the national anthem at major sporting events, all the XLII crowd got to experience was the muffled rumble as the F-18s flew over top the closed-roof stadium. They probably telecast it on the big indoor screens, but it's not quite the same. I'm not really sure why the stadium roof was even closed, because the weather in Phoenix was in mid-50s, with no rain at gametime.  You thought they would have at least had the roof open for the flyover, and then closed it (which only takes about 12 minutes) for the game if they were really worried about the weather.
